Android Eclipse NoClassDefFoundError for external .jar files

I have come across a strange error. I have an Android project that uses external libraries, in particular: android-support-v4.jar (for Fragment support in Android 1.6) GoogleAdMobAdsSdk-4.3.1.jar (for ads) The project ran fine until I updated some aspects of the plugin (can’t recall the specifics as I did not pay too much attention to it) and […]

Locations of super() calls in Android Eclipse Plugin generated code reliable?

In many of Android methods, especially constructors and overridden methods, you should or even must call the parent class method using super(). When you use the Eclipse Source > Override/Implement Methods… you get code from a template with TODO tags like this: public MyCanvas(Context context, AttributeSet attrs) { super(context, attrs); // TODO Auto-generated constructor stub […]

Eclipse not running Android app on emulator a second time

I’ve decided to teach myself how to program android apps, and so got the ADT onto eclipse and going through the tutorials on the android development page. I’ve run into a problem where eclipse doesn’t launch the emulator to run the app a second time. I first noticed the problem on the second tutorial talking […]

Eclipse 'Loading data for Android 4.4.2' all the time

I’m using Eclipse Kepler SP2 with the latest ADT plugin. Every other minute Eclipse is saying ‘Loading data for Android 4.4.2’ and blocks everything I want to do. I have several instances of Eclipse in different folders (only running one at a time) and it happens with all of them. This is driving me nuts. […]
