I am trying to store currency values in sqlite database in android. I don’t think so that int will be used here. I have heard that Bigdecimal can be used. If anyone can tell me the way it should be used to send values to sqlite database.
I’m working on an Android application where I’d like to have the largeHeap and hardwareAccelerated flags on. However, it also needs to support Android 2.3. My AndroidManifest.xml looks like the following: <uses-sdk android:minSdkVersion=”10″ android:targetSdkVersion=”10″/> <application android:icon=”@drawable/icon” android:label=”@string/app_name” android:hardwareAccelerated=”true” android:largeHeap=”true” > However, Eclipse refuses to build the project, saying: error: No resource identifier found for attribute […]
I’m trying to determine which is the best/preferred/recommended linux distribution for native Android development ? I’m looking into Ubuntu now, but am also considering CentOS (I’ve always liked RedHat). I guess at a bear minimum, the OS needs to Support the latest JDK (required by Android SDK) Run Eclipse (which means a Desktop package is […]

I’m developing a scanner app for Honeywell Dolphin 7800 devices, but can’t figure out how to make eclipse detect the device. Usb debugging is enabled as well as Allow non-Market applications (also, device is showing USB debugging connected notification). I’ve tried restarting eclipse, adb server & device. I’m working on OSX, and I’m guessing I […]
I will be using a local JSON file with some data. My question is where is the best/proper way to store the file and how should I access it and it’s contents? I have worked with json through http before but not a local one.
I am one step away from making the method described here: Targeting Android with Scala 2.8 Trunk builds work with a single project (vs one project for scala and one for android). I’ve come across a problem. Using this input file (arguments to) proguard: -injars bin;lib/scala-library.jar(!META-INF/MANIFEST.MF,!library.properties) -outjar lib/scandroid.jar -libraryjars lib/android.jar -dontwarn -dontoptimize -dontobfuscate -dontskipnonpubliclibraryclasses -dontskipnonpubliclibraryclassmembers […]
I have a simple android project that I am trying to debug inside of Eclipse. When I run it in debug mode and use the “Step Over” button, it frequently seems to want to go into Android code (I don’t want it to do this, just as a C debugger will not go into libc). […]
